Number of Appointments Accepted

Does this mean more offers will go out if not accepted?

Is anyone still waiting with no BFE or TWE?

Some people could just be waiting until they hear back from other colleges to accept or decline, and I think once people actually press the decline button then they start pulling people off the national waiting list. I'm not sure though to be honest. As of now though, there are 899 members of the class of 2020.

I believe this number doesn't include prepsters. If I recall correctly, prepsters were notified mid April, so give or take 150 to 200, with 1200 appointments, we might be looking at around 100 to 150 more appointments.

The targeted number differ yearly depending on congressional mandate, right?

By law, the Corps of Cadets can be 4400 cadets. Due to the GWOT, it was increased. I believe the law has not changed but West Point started to bring down the class size, hence the class size of 1400 in previous years to about 1200 in recent years. Since the limit is the total size of the Corps, West Point has some flexibility.

DS still waiting ... informed last week he's on NWL ... crossing fingers but still moving forward to visit 2 colleges next week and make a decision before 5/1. If he gets an appointment, he'd definitely take it no matter when it comes in!

I've heard of appointments trickling in literally 2 weeks before r day. Not common, but it has happened. Don't give up hope.

My Uncle is a West Point grad, and waaaay back in 1958, he was wait listed. Literally three days before R-day, he got the call. My Grandma and Grandpa had to go to the bank and get a loan for $50 for his train ticket to New York.

Hang in there!

Good luck to you! AZ born and raised:groupwave: go Az! DS got TWE March 25 born AZ now TN.
Is DS planning on reapplying next year?? Just curious! I've seen a lot of people who are planning on reapplying and it just warms my heart to see the type of people (determined and hardworking) I'm going to school with soon.
