I was recently awarded with the 3 year scholarship for the Army to attend UCSD in the fall. I have been talking to some people and they told me that I will soon be receiving an email from Cadet Command regarding the next steps but could anyone in this forum tell me how to proceed?

• If I don't get the DoDMERB in by the May 1st College Commitment deadline, what happens?
• I recently broke a rib and I will be kept in the house for a couple of days...will this disqualify me from passing the DoDMERB?
• I was admitted into my second choice major to my university, still eligible for the scholarship? I heard I have to contact cadet command.

Thanks for your help in advanced!

  • you can commit without DoDMEDB
  • the rib may be a problem as there is a 6 month possible DQ period for orthopedic issues. but as a 3yr might be less of an issue. will probably trigger the waiver process.
  • are you saying you were not accepted to the school the scholarship is for? contact the ROO at the school for guidance.

+1 @AJC Call the ROO.

are you saying you were not accepted to the school the scholarship is for? contact the ROO at the school for guidance
Many UC schools have impacted majors, such as engineering. I believe the OP was accepted to the University but not granted acceptance to his first choice of major.

Contacting the ROO at UCSD will allow you notify him that you were accepted to UCSD but not to your first choice major. It is my understanding that the Cadre is open to at least one major change during college. In your case, the change of major is getting you accepted to the University, so it is highly understandable. I would bet that the ROO would have no issue with that. (@clarksonarmy out there?)

@AJC, thanks for your quick response. For my rib injury, the doctors say that I will be able to perform physical activity within 2 weeks, but the rib will be healed by sometime around late May-Early June.

I was accepted into UCSD but was not accepted into my first choice.

go to;
https://www.dodmets.com/AppLogIn.aspx
if you can log in, then you are in the system
that typically happens when you win the scholarship
it takes a few days to get the packet by mail.
you could also call concorde and they will tell you were they want you to go for you exams
the paperwork says you have 90 days to complete the exams, but do not wait.
if you need a waiver you should get the process going

@AJC, it tells me that my login failed. Could this simply be an error for right now considering that scholarship winners were posted yesterday?
