Surprised nobody has posted about this yet, so here I go. CC has extended the transfer request deadline to May 4th, it was previously April 15th. I put my request in before April 1st, and now will most likely have to wait til June to hear back. Would CC know earlier whether they will have spots for transfer, and will they give preference based on when the request was submitted? I thank all answers in advance.

futuresoldier5211 - Are you in contact with the ROO at the school you want to attend? If not you should do so to ensure yours has not been 'lost'. Some transfers have been processed already.

I am in contact, and he told me that he cannot see anything on his side for transfers. I called CC a couple weeks back and they had told me they received my request.

I think it really depends on the school you are trying to transfer too. They are all done on an individual basis.

futuresoldier5211 - I agree with HH6 that it might be dependent on the school you are trying to transfer to. You could contact that ROO and 'sell yourself'.

Ask him/her if there is anything that can be done to complete the transfer or if he needs anything else from you. Ask if he can contact cadet command on your behalf. Ask if they are already at or over their scholarship 'allocation' for the incoming class. Are you transferring to an SMC or a commonly filled AROTC program? Is the receiving unit in another Brigade than originally accepted? You don't want to be a pest but if you address this professionally it might help.

The receiving ROO or PMS was involved with the two HS seniors I know that requested and received transfers of scholarships this year - though both were transfers in the same Brigade. To give you some timing perspective - both requests were submitted the second or third week of March and approved in early April.

Be patient...Cadet Command has your request and will make a decision as soon as they can. If you submitted a request that made a good case for why you should be allowed to transfer your scholarship then there is nothing else you can do.

Follow clarksonarmy's guidance - He knows and has significantly more exposure than n2!

Where are transfer requests sent to? Are they emailed or snail mailed? DS had his deadline extended to 5/4 too.

There is guidance on the bottom of your award letter. Transfer requests and related documentation can be emailed or snail mailed to the appropriate cadet command address at Ft. Knox.

Thank you - just returned from our college visiting trip and posted the question before I pulled out the paperwork.

My son also requested a transfer of his 4 year scholarship from one school (that he did not get in to) to another. He submitted his transfer request by email on April 3rd. A few weeks later I called Cadet Command to find out the status of the request.
I left a message the first time, and kept calling. Finally someone answered the phone, told me to wait on the phone, she came back and said the transfer request was just approved. In other words, she kindly made the transfer while I waited on the phone.
My concern was that my son needs to accept at A school by May 1, and we needed to know sooner rather than later whether his transfer request would be granted. So my advice would be to call them, and keep calling ......

Wrote letter, saved PDF of acceptance letter, submitted via email - within 2 days request approved.

what number did you call?

502-624-7371 is number for Cadet Command. Kathleen Barnes answered and is the ROTC Branch Chief.

My DS submitted his transfer request to CC on 31 Mar. I asked his pgm manager at CC on the status and he said they are swamped and will get to it in the order received, please be patient.

Was the portal got updated? My DS got e-mail telling him the request got approved (also telling him official one is coming) but the portal still has old school.
I am talking to myself... "Be patient.. Be patient.. It will come...."

on the phone I was told that we should send the email to the Recruiting Officer and Military Science Professor at the new school, to let them know - official document will arrive later

My DS received e-mail and was told in e-mail that his response would be verification. Portal was updated also.

Thank you, did just that two days ago and my transfer was approved! Also, anyone else not being able to open the portal? Mine states
"The deadline for beginning new applications for school year 2015-2016 has passed. The next application window for school year 2016-2017 begins 12 June 2015."
No ability to go straight to dashboard either.
