we know where the appointees are from but I am curious to know where the rest of you are from. I am also curious to know how you heard about USMMA since it seems to the be the "secret" SA in certain areas.

App on file. Tx-14, outside of Houston. Heard from Mark Henry, Galveston County judge. He used to work for Cruz, and told me it was the best option of the service academies. DD was being recruited by West Point, but once we compared the schools, KP seemed more in line with what she wanted. What's your story?

MA - was USNA from day 1. In early October 2015 he went to a local service academy night. There was a local rep/KP dad on hand for questions. My son made a beeline for him after hearing him speak. App done the next week - overnight scheduled for November 2015 - toured the campus with coach and worked out with the team the next morning. Sold American (and for all of you lurking KP alums he stayed with Band Co.). Fingers, toes, and eyes crossed.

Course catalog says applicants are told by April 10. That should help the "app on file" people, but the "hold" could be after May 1 when the declines come in.

Thanks for the info! I just signed up to be notified if Fed Ex picks up a package for delivery. I got really excited til I realized the update was just for something I ordered for husbands birthday!

If you were a wait list applicant - "Hold" displayed in the portal and got the letter you were national wait list, what would the portal show if you were then granted an appointment?

Do all applicants get a letter from admissions if you got a hold in your portal? I got my letter after a week it states hold nwl

My Son got a call and was offered a nomination by our MOC. He had not applied. We researched together and he applied real quick!

I was blown away by our research, what an awesome opportunity, with broad application, education, and career follow on.

Saddened when our MOC told us later "We offered several other kids a Nomination and they declined to apply.
Unfortunately my son did not get an Appointment. Can't help but think his late app was looked on unfavorably? As we all know You hardly ever know the for sure reasons for or against he was qualified in all areas.

Anyway I am a big promoter now just based on my research and discussions with others.

I was given an Appointment last Friday. I found out about my appointment when my U.S. senator called to congratulate me on my appointment to KP. The appointment package is in the mail and headed this way. My name is Porter Gregory and I'm from Little Rock, Arkansas. I'm extremely exited about summer Indoc and am looking forward to meeting my fellow classmates! My application stayed on hold for quite a while and I even got a letter stating my hold status. So if anyone is still sitting on hold don't lose hope, friends.

Congratulations porter!!

Congratulations on your appointment, Porter! And thanks for the encouraging words. DS has been on hold for quite a while and even received a letter date 25 March stating this. (Thought it was a TWE when it came in the U.S. Mail, before this dinosaur realized that any such notification would have come by e-mail, not snail mail.) DS hopes to join you at KP.

I cannot tell you how much I hope everything works out for you all. Best of luck, God bless.

That was class of 2019, that son chose to move on to other challenges. We just finished helping my Son's wife's brother through the app process. A wonderful story and a good candidate, 3 Nominations but no appointment. (A bit low on Math) He will have to decide about the re-app. My Mid is 2017. This family has been in App mode since 2012.

Math can be the killer.
Taking a math prep program (like Sylvan for exampl) can help boost math scores.
Also, taking the SAT and ACT multiple times can boost your scores.
