Sorry to hear that. But maybe that is good news for the rest of us still waiting? I know that it has to go to the placement folks next which is why it takes so long for decisions to come out, so maybe us still waiting are at placement?

I spoke to Naval Services Training Command today and was told the last Board selections were with the Admiral for his signature and will be out tomorrow, Thursday, or Friday. Candidate portals will be updated and the candidates notified.

It was fine he had already even told one of the MSIs that called for an interview he had decided to go Army. Only 4 of our family were Navy (One changed to Army) The rest of us were Army so is more of the family thing anyway. There have been several times that some of us were even station in same or near-by cities. Very exciting times! I totally stalk the housing page to see if there are any 'better' rooms/room mates in our pricerange and they have gone from having 29-32 beds available to 7. Hope all still waiting get good news we are still waiting to find out about a NJROTC best friend and a couple other NJROTC friends.

DS turned down. Was second time applicant with a 3.8 in engineering first semester at Norwich. Do not know what the navy is looking for but this is t tough one to swallow. Still has a chance at a sideload with the unit but what do you tell a kid who hits a hoemrun in his first semester and get denied at the 11th hour.

Just found out that I didn't receive the scholarship. I applied back in August so I'm kind of glad I finally have an answer now. Looks like I'm just gunna use my AFROTC scholarship. Regardless, I look forward to having the opportunity to serve in the world's finest military.

Congrats to all of you who received scholarships! The navy is a tough one to get! My son was offered appointments to both USAFA and USMA (going to USAFA), but was turned down by USNA and just found out this evening he was turned down for NROTC. Good thing he wasn't bent on a naval career.

My DD found out today she got a NROTC scholarship to her second choice school. Still very happy! Nearly 9 months of "No decision.......". I agree with the above post, the NROTC scholarship process is extremely competitive.

Congratulations!

My DD's portal was also updated to 4-year NROTC scholarship today. She was placed at her #1 choice. After checking her portal after every board since last fall only to find "no decision", today's news was thrilling to say the least! Time to have a relaxing weekend!
