This is an alternate account from my main, just thought I would add some anonymity at the moment. If any of you would like to know more personal information or details as to why I left, feel free to message me and I will send you everything you'd want to know.
So to start, I was a cadet in the class of 2018, made it all the way to the first summer of my C3C year, and then left the Academy on my own accord. No honor violations, no academic probations, just left on my own with an honorable discharge (all pertinent info for why I left can be given in a private message). It took me a year of being at a civilian school to realize that I really did enjoy the Academy, and that I wanted back in, even if it meant going back to college for 3 more years rather than finishing my BS degree at the civilian school I was at (and no I was not on a religious mission). To me, the experience that the Academy gives is like no other, and I would start all over if I had to in order to graduate from there.
My post is reaching out to all cadets who needed to re-apply, any ALO's, or any members of the SAF community who has experience with a situation like this, or has heard of anything like this. I am working with admissions currently, as well as officers in the greater Air Force community to help mentor me through this process. I would also like more opinions on what steps are necessary, as well as just pure guidance from you all since you were helpful when I applied and got in originally. I have my letter drafted up (4 or so pages so far) and have reached out to my nomination sources (mostly to see if they have any qualms in nominating an ex-cadet). My ALO is new to this situation and doesn't really know the process in re-applying as an ex-cadet, not to blame her as this is a rare occurrence. I have also scoured the internet for every available source of information on this topic, and while there are some good links, most are few and far between in regards to this.
