I'm reading as much as possible preparing for my R-Day next week, and came across this from the Scholars handbook. "Anyone outside of weight standards at the beginning of Summer Orientation will not be allowed to continue with the enlistment process or the Scholar Program, costs associated with your return home should you not be permitted to continue with the program are not funded by the Coast Guard. Anyone outside of weight standards at the conclusion of their prep year will not receive an appointment to the Coast Guard Academy."
I'm hoping for some clarification if this is true on for R-day as well. I am currently in compliance. I've been working with a trainer for the past 3 months on upper body strength. I am 5-10 and 188 pounds. My concern is this. Between sports physicals, doctors visits ect...I've been measured at b/w 5-9 and 5-10.25 in the past year. If I get there and measure under 5-9.5 then my max weight is 185. Also, I was hoping to seriously hydrate the next 4 days in prep for the work ahead. I'm concerned that if I do that, and have a nice breakfast on R-Day that I could be over 190 minimum.
My main question is, if i'm 2-3 pounds over the max weight for someone measuring 5-9 what happens?
