So,
Some people have been talking about how there is a hidden gem to getting in the citadel by applying early and getting a full scholarship I was wondering about that because I wish to go to a military college but there mostly really expensive and I can't get into a service academy I haven't done enough things for that I will apply but chances are low though so I'm thinking about VMI but that's a lot of money for out of state so I heard about this citadel secret and am wondering about it my backup plan is to go UND and attended ROTC but I would much rather attend a military college

I'm thinking work on grammar before you think about college. That appears to be one sentence.

I'm sorry but I'm currently on break on work and don't have time to write a full blown grammar correct essay for a forum. Thank you

It sounds like you answered your own question and know what you want to do...apply for a scholarship and go ROTC at UND for your backup.

Also, it's not like people are expecting you to be perfect with your post. nofodad may have came off a little too blunt but at the same time but it is not that hard to write with correct grammar.

I'm sorry I just couldn't resist. But there is a saying, how you do this, is how you do everything. My apologies. I know of no secret. If you're interested in an SMC or any of the ROTC branches you should realize that they are frequently "plan B" for many SA candidates. So in order to gain admission to one, or be competitive to participate and gain a scholarship for ROTC regardless of branch, your gpa, test scores, sport, activities and leadership should be on par with applicants for SAs. I hope that helps. Get back to work. :)

Not sure who "some people" are, but I have my ideas ;) No secrets in the process, pay your dues like all. I guess my acronyms understanding is not good.. "UND"? UND is not anywhere I know of in SC and if you are from out of state that would put you in at The Citadel at around 50K a year. And ROTC is a national process for scholarships, as I understand it. School based scholarships at El Cid are hard to come by.

Ok I don't necessarily need a scholarship to go to UND that is a fairly inexpensive collage compared to the senior military schools. it is university of North Dakota it's just a normal college and I would attend normal ROTC. My odds of anything else are probably slim but I will try I'm a average student, junior with a 3.2 but that will improve as I'm taking ap history and ap english I'm in varsity football and golf that's about I'm waiting to see how I will do on act I'm confident i will get a good score

Apply. One never knows. Good luck to you.

I thought it was North Dakota but you were talking about VMI cost and mentioned The Citadel, so I thought maybe a SC resident. Nope no secrets to getting money at The Citadel. From what I have heard some other posters on here comment, maybe even more challenging. You may want to look at SMC's like UNG and A&M which waiver out of state tuition and grant in state tuition for members of the Corp.

+1 Cluelessparent.

UNG and Texas A & M have programs for the Corps of Cadets to enjoy in-state tuition rates.
