Send in anyway?

I took the CFA at NASS, and bombed the pull up portion, but did well on everything else. Because my WP file doesn't have a CFA score yet since I'm currently training hard, should I request the score from USNA first just so they have a score before I retake it? I'm just wondering because WP hasn't requested DODMERB for me yet, even though I took the medical exam last week (for ROTC application), and I'm just trying to do as much as I can before school begins since my counselor has been AWOL in terms of helping my file

I wouldn't send the NASS CFA in at this point. You have that score in the bag if and when you want it transferred, but since you are planning to retake it regardless, wait and then if you do better send the better score to USMA, as well as any other academy you are applying to. Work hard on pull-ups and everything else, then retake the test when you are feeling good about it. There is no benefit to sening the sub-par CFA in at this point, and no need for USMA to see it if you are taking it again.

As far as the DODMERB, if you have taken it for ROTC you wont need to take it again. The exam is good for everything. The results will be sent to everywhere you are applying. My son received his DODMERB order early in the process from USNA, but the check mark for completing the DODMERB appeared on his USMA and USAFA before it did an his USNA portal, and it showed as completed for ROTC too. Its a one time deal.

You are wise to be on top of all of this. Lots of balls to keep in the air at the same time when applying to multiple academies and ROTC.

How many pull-ups did you do?

I didn't do any pull ups and opted to do the flexed arm hang instead. I got a little over a minute - about 63 seconds. But I know they encourage girls to do at least one pull up because it's better than max hang, and I could definitely improve on the basketball throw so I'd retake it again anyway.

I heard that the first time the Admissions Board will meet is in September? So as long as I can retake the CFA at the end of August and get all my essays and counselor stuff in, that should open up the DODMERB portion for USMA right? Thank you so much for your help!

If you are competing a MOC slots, as most of the candidates are, you have a lot of time, as they will not make a decision until all of the MOC's have submitted the nominations.

Sorry, I do not have an answer for your question, but I do have a question myself. How did you do the DoDMERB exam for ROTC, as in where on the portal does it have you schedule it and such?

I just went to the portal again, and it is from my understanding that only scholarship winners do DODMERB for ROTC. Were you an applicant for c/o 2020?

Okay so I basically knew nothing about ROTC, until I realized it could definitely be a Plan B for me. So I just did the application online - the questionnaire/personal data, etc, and finished it within a week. Then I just got an email from DODMERB without even logging back into ROTC. DODMERB will send you instructions and has a website that isn't on the ROTC portal which will allow you to schedule exams. I'm going to be a senior in HS, so I'm hoping for Class of 2021!!

Same with me, best of luck! But here is what is says on the ROTC website,
"Individuals selected as scholarship finalists will be contacted and scheduled for a medical examination by the Department of Defense Medical Examination Review Board (DoDMERB). DoDMERB will normally contact students via letter or postcard announcing an appointment date and time or requesting that you contact a contracted physician to make an appointment."

Have you done your essays, your PFA, and your interview? Are you already a scholarship finalist? If so, congrats!

Honestly, I have no idea. I only just put in my SSN on the ROTC website and filled everything out that I could fill out. Nothing happened for a couple days, and then DODMERB just sent me an email and I also got a call from a college not too far from me about a possible ROTC scholarship, but I wasn't even done with my application. That's why I don't think I'm a scholarship finalist. I also haven't done my essays OR my interview. But either way, I'm glad I got the medical exam out of the way. Best of luck to you as well! It's actually more likely that WP or USNA requested the Dodmerb exam - the medical is triggered when you've reached a certain portion of your application as complete. Good luck to you!
