Hello,
Currently I'm AD Navy looking to head to a northern or central Mississippi detachment, and I have a few questions.
- I acquired an ailment while in the service and I am currently receiving care. It is a neck tissue alignment and it has no effect on my overseas availability nor my ability to work everyday. If a prior or enlisted/commissioned veteran can shed some light pertaining to whether this may affect my medical review. As I've learned, there never has been any harm to admitting to previous health issues in the service. My main concern is the fact that I'm switching branches and will be placed in a cadet position rather than being AD at a military treatment facility on base (typically they understand any issues).
- Foremost, I've done a lot of searching on AFF, SAF, and Reddit to get an exclusive layout of Field Training. I can imagine it would be just like boot but most questions that arise are just "Can I get an EA?" "Will I make it to FT?". <-- That's not my primary concern, I'm just trying to find a well laid out experience and possibly a day-by-day experience. From the best of my knowledge it is only 28 days, so I feel as if it could be easily record-able. I've heard it called "kiddy-camp" (with no offense intended), and if it is anything compared to asking AD commissioned officers that went to OCS/OTS. They claim you just need to keep your head-down; that directly reflects my naval time at RTC Great Lakes.
- If anyone is curious, currently I'm studying HR with Tuition Assistance with an accumulated amount of credits of 30. I plan to use my Post 9/11 GI Bill to pay for the remainder of my studies and take any extra elective courses to extend my ROTC time-frame to a 3-year period. From the detachments I've contacted, more than likely, I would be placed at an AS 250 level for my own previous service time.
I would appreciate any feedback pertaining to these issues and thank-you to anybody that takes their time to read all of this.
