This is taken directly from USMA portal home page. Good luck.

Attention All USMA Applicants:
SAT Essay & ACT Writing Scores Required
When registering for the SAT,
you must select the "SAT with Essay" exam. If you have already registered for an upcoming SAT and did not select the "SAT with Essay" exam, you should immediately contact SAT (866-756-7346) to add the Essay portion. For more information:

Ooops. Wrong service academy. Sorry about that.

Spoke to admissions (8/26) - USAFA does want you to take the SAT Essay section.

I have already registered for the SAT without the essay portion......will this affect my admission process in anyway?

At least once you will need to take the written portion. So as long as you are taking it again with the written, you should be ok.

It sounds like (per an earlier response) you could contact the organization that administers the SAT and ask to have your application changed to include the essay section. See the number listed above and ask.

Traditionally, it is best just to take it with the essay. It's basically the "rather be safe than sorry" mentality. Some civilian colleges require it too and I have some friend who are in a bad spot because they got near perfect scores on the SAT or ACT but didn't take them with writing so the test does not count.

Okay.... Thank you soo much!
