Anybody have any ideas on what to do after you're done with your application? I had my interview Saturday, and it's been marked off on my application, so I'm officially DONE!!!! I'm going to take my CFA (because heck why not?). Now I don't know what to do :( my retake CFA for USNA is just going to be my CFA for USAFA as well and that's all I have left for that application.

I've also got a presidential nom, so is it possible to get an appointment this early in the game?

It is possible, but I would not expect it. I tell everyone be prepared for a Feb-March notification. That way if it comes earlier great, but it helps prepare mentally for the wait. Have you applied to your other nomination sources? Finished your ROTC application? Other college apps?

Yep I'm done with all my nomination apps and both AFROTC and NROTC app's. Done with 3 of my 5 colleges other than the academies. Just waiting on my ACT scores to make it to the other 2 colleges

To anybody else that sees this....does your region/state have anything to do with appointment chances? I'm from southern Mississippi, and the congressmen and senators get on average 30 individuals applying for a nomination for all the academies combined. A little additional info comes from my BGO, who informed me that out of the 21 people he's a BGO for, I'm the only one with 100% of the app. done, and there's one gal with 56% and two with 11%. Clearly, there isn't a lot of people that apply from my state.

It definitely does.

It's not worth trying to figure out what your appointment chances are. Take NavyHoops' and 5day's advice. Just because other candidates haven't finished their application doesn't mean they won't and is not an indication of their competitiveness. I'd go enjoy your senior year.

Agree with bgo08. Just because you are 100% doesn't mean the other 20 candidates won't finish. Finishing first isn't going to get you extra points on your WCS. Maybe USNA made a big push in recruiting this year in Miss and had many attendees at summer seminar, tons of football recruits or a 100 other scenarios. Being in a less competitive area always helps your chances, but all it takes is one person with a higher WCS or if a ranked method is used to be 1 spot higher than you. Having a presidential helps. But remember only 100 appointments can be charged there and over 800 annually qualify for this Nom source. Bottom line, you are in good shape having it all done. Go knock out your CFA. Control what you can in this process which is you. Study or take a class on SAT/ACT and retake it one more time. And go enjoy your senior year. I know it's hard to sit back and not run thru the 1000 scenarios, but you are only a senior once, so go have fun.
