The DODMERB website finally shows my son's medical waiver as granted. Six Months from date of disqualification letter...if anyone is curious of the time frame.

Do you know when the SA initiated the waiver process after DQ and when it was granted ?

The waiver process varies for candidate to candidate. It might take 6 months as in this case or it can take 3 weeks. Typically though it does become more backed up later into the year because ROTC only candidates will not be sent for their DoDMERB until they are offered a scholarship. That means right now the ones with DQ will be SA candidates.

Plus, DoDMERB just DQs. It is the commissioning source that waives. I.E. IF you apply to USAFA and AFROTC, both of them would have to waive the DQ since they are 2 different commissioning sources.

YUP to all of that. Also, cadets already contracted get priority over scholarship candidates.

I know it took over a week (almost two) from when it was actually "granted" by the surgeon until it was officially "granted" and then put on DODMERB for us to see. I'll ask DH...he knows the timeline for sure. I just check the website.

CONGRATULATIONS! I have been wondering about you!!! So happy for you and your son, how is his first few weeks at school going? My daughter has a classmate who is still waiting on her waiver, and she has been waiting for about six months as well.
