AFROTC Banners

Situation:
I'm an AFROTC cadet and this semester I am the cadet recruiting officer. I've been tasked by a cadre member to raise awareness of our program around campus and to do this I was hoping to put up some AFROTC banners. Our Army ROTC counterparts have banners all over campus and I was hoping to represent Air Force ROTC in a similar manner.

The issue:
1. I can't find any pre-made banners anywhere, I've created some of my own but they're sub-par. I was assuming, similar to swag gears and pamphlets, there would be some official USAF website where banners could be ordered for promotional purposes.

2. Would AF Headquarters fund banners for us? My cadre member told me to fund it through cadet club, which isn't fair to us seeing that we have to use those funds for other activities (i.e. Dining Out).

Question:
Do any of you out there at schools with AFROTC have banners throughout the school promoting the program? Maybe I'm just the first to do this...

I would suggest finding a print shop that will do it for the price you want and ask them what others typically do. If you need it in a certain file format make one for yourself by overlaying pictures. Your det should have some sort of system where a form is filed for expenses and approved/disapproved. If your cadre told you to fund it in that way then that is what you should do.

Well, the cadet club's money belongs to cadets. A cadre member does not get to dictate how they use their funds in that manner, especially for something that is something the det should be paying for vs cadets paying out of their own pockets for. Cadet club is separate from AFROTC and is self funded by cadets so they get to make decisions with what it's used for and how they use it to benefit the cadet experience. It's like if the cadre told the cadet club to fund uniforms for incoming cadets, it's just not their job and AFROTC should pay for it. So i can see why you'd be reluctant to use funds that take away from dining in, especially since the recruiting officer probably has a budget that could fund that if they wanted to while cadets do the leg work for creating the posters. That would be the right way to do it, but if there's too much pressure and they wont consider your side then you may just have to use cadet club's money :/.

A cheaper way to do this vs printing large banners would be to print posters/flyers to post on campus. We did this last year and many of our new cadets said they heard about us through the posters we put up on the cross town campuses.

Well then here is the thing.....

1. You get the AF to pay for your banner.
2. If they don't pay for it you don't get a banner.

Sounds like those are the only two options you want.

No i offered an alternate solution. Posters may be cheaper and cover more area for recruitment than banners.

I sympathize with the OP b/c private cadet funds arent there for the cadre to use instead of the AF's funds. They could totally fund it if they wanted to, but they see that the cadets have money saved up and say oh just use that. By all means use cadets to do the leg work, but every det does have a recruiting mission and that is part of it. It's hard though if you dont think something should be done a certain way but the cadre want it so i get it if the OP doesnt even want to raise the question. Which is why i suggested posters. Find some, create some. We created some badass posters for our det that got the word out well. The thing with banners is they're expensive and you have to get extra approval from the schools to place them and they will direct where you can/cant place them.

Also, if the army did this before you you could ask them how much/where they got them. However army typically leaves recruitment up to the cadre so they probably got those using army funds anyways and cadets may have had nothing to do with them.
