I took my fitness test with me P.E. teacher for the scholarship today. Because of medicine I'm on I wasn't able to preform the best that I could.

Situps: 24
Pushups: 31
Mile time: 6:50

Has anyone ever re-done theirs and updated it? Can it be super-scored just like an SAT, to say, only re-do situps? Overall, I know how low the these numbers are, but how much of an impact does it have on my overall application?

Are you male or female?

You cannot superscore your PFA. Each test stands on its own. No combining scores.

If you're male, you better do it again.

It is not that bad, the one minute test is to show a reasonable proficiency to be able to pass the APFT. Although, the area that is a little bit of concern is the sit-ups, actually would be curl-ups for the presidential fitness test. But for your APFT you will need a 53 on the sit-ups, you want to be more than halfway and on your way to passing, in my opinion. You have time to take it again. Show that you should be able to pass, but then train to come in and max.

Thank you for the feedback, since the entire application is due October 7th for the 1st board, I'm debating holding off on updated PFT scores until the 2nd board to really train and prepare. Would you see this as a poor or wise choice?

I don't know if you need to delay applying due only to the fitness test, one piece of a very large puzzle, there are more important reasons to wait. When is your interview? The PMS will want your scores at that time. The main argument I have seen on here for waiting (applied to my daughter), is having an ACT or SAT score below the score to get full points for that on the interview. It is an ACT of 24 or SAT of 1100 or higher. I know my daughter was told not to rush, get her scores up and be strong for the second board. This ended up to be good advice because she got her scores up (22 to a 25 with a 26 superscore) and didn't get her scholarship until the 3rd board, showing she was not a competitive first board candidate. Remember that only about 300 scholarships are awarded the first board, so it is really selective. I agree with Padre101, you can still increase your score, even a little improvement in your push-ups and run, or the same, the main thing is to increase your sit-ups, that would help, but you would have to complete it before your interview, do you have one scheduled?

My interview is scheduled for October 3rd, with an ROO I have spoken with throughout the entire process. I hope to re-take the PFT October 5th, since it gives me time to prepare as well as the only time that fits into my schedule, is it not possible to submit a new PFT scores after the interview?
My current ACT score is 24, but he told me to retake it in October and submit my new ACT score in time for the 2nd board.

That sounds like a great plan, and I would take the ROO advice over mine, definitely. My daughter was very grateful for the help she received from three different ROO's and it worked out great. Basically you will get the full points for the interview then resubmit your scores. I am not 100% sure, but for my daughter's interview she had to have her fitness scores for the interview, so that would be a question for the ROO if you can upload one after the interview. Are you meeting with the ROO or the PMS? Even having 2 weeks to prepare and retake the fitness test should make a big difference. Good luck to you!

I'm meeting with the ROO, I'll be sure to ask him about the PFT. Thank you for all your help!
