Class rank unweighted or weighted?

Personally, at my school, there's a large number of kids who take 0-2 AP classes and maintain a 4.0 UW. On the other hand, I have around a 3.85 UW with 4-5 AP classes. Due to this, my class rank is fairly low if it's submitted unweighted, but I believe I can request my weighted class rank from my counselor. Are there any rules or preferences from the Academy regarding this?

I would imagine you'd want the rank that corresponds with the GPA submitted. Weighted/weighted or unweighted/unweighted.

They ask for class rank and GPA. You school should calculate rank via weighted class and grade. USAFA will also ask for unweighted GPA.

Your school will submit the transcripts to USAFA. The application process says that they use an unweighted scale, but USAFA assigns their own weighting to your classes. The GPA they had for my DS was somewhere between his weighted and unweighted high school average.

USAFA will figure out your new GPA, according to their standards. They know about your school, how many go to Ivies, to college, to work, to the military, etc. Don't worry about this. It is totally out of your hands.
