Hi, I am a high school senior applying for an Army ROTC scholarship.

I completed my PMS interview two months ago at my top school. It went very well, the professor said she was impressed and hopes I join that program, and I also found the PMS and cadre to be extraordinarily friendly while still very professional. A few days after, the PMS emailed me asking for the information needed to check off the boxes on the interview sheet (honors/ap classes, elected student positions, sports & sports leadership), which I then provided. At this time (as it had been for a few weeks prior to the interview) my online ROTC app had approved SAT scores & high school transcript, and had the PMS interview listed as "Interview Pending."

However, it now has been about 7 weeks since my correspondence with the professor and my online application still shows "Interview Pending." The professor and all cadre at the school seemed extremely proficient, and so I do not think the PMS simply forgot to submit the interview form. I have not yet submitted my PFA (I am taking it next week), could this possibly be affecting my interview status? I read a thread on this forum from a while back indicating that the interview was not appearing completed until the PFA was approved, although I haven't seen anything else say this, so I would like to be sure my interview is fine.

Thank you so much for your time.

Just speculation, but I think the PFA is contributing to the hold up. Most PMS's I've read about request the PFA results before or during their interview. My recommendation is to contact the ROO/Enrollment officer at the Battalion where you interview, and make sure there are no issues submission from their end. If not, they can probably give you recommendations on the next place to check (probably Cadet Command). Again, I suspect it's your PFA, but it doesn't hurt to check!

Thank you for your response.

I was wondering if the PMS may have wanted my PFA scores but she never asked about it at all, during the interview or in her email, which I thought was a bit odd. I guess I will contact the ROO, I just don't want to bug him too much.

After 7 weeks, I doubt they will view it as bugging. Is that school in your top 3 for ROTC Battalions? If so, they should be fairly interested in helping, especially if they feel you're competitive for a national scholarship. Plus, on the off chance there's a system glitch or a problem with processing at cadet command, they should be able to help with a solution.

You're right, thank you. The school is currently my #1 choice.

Do not worry about bugging the ROO, this is their job. Going straight to the source will get you the best answer as well alleviate your stress and wondering. Another option is it contact Cadet Command via email and ask what you're missing.

Not sure you can do your interview till PFA scores are submitted. My DS met with the ROO and was told he could come in for the actual interview when prompted by Cadet Command, he was asked to bring a copy of PFA any Letters of Rrecommendation, official transcript, and certified copies of test scores with him to his interview.

ROO's may speak with you and have a pretty good idea of what to do with you but the official interview does not happen till the packages is virtually complete.

This was what I thought originally, although when I asked the cadre if I needed the PFA completed before interviewing they said no, and on the official scholarship application it just says test scores & transcript must be completed and approved.

I contacted the ROO today and he said that the PFA does need to be submitted for the interview to be marked as completed. I guess it's an unwritten rule.

Thank you everyone for the assistance.
