I am sending a package to my friend at West Point and I wanted to know if I send it by UPS, will they be opening up the package and rummaging through? Because it says UPS takes an extra day for security, and I wrapped the package and organized it already and do not want it to be ruined.

Thanks!

As long as you don't send contraband and something illegal you'll be fine. This is a small sample of things not permitted. ( Haz-Mat, explosives, radioactive, grandmas cookies, fire arms, drugs, biological, Samsung batteries, college brownies laced with pot, ANFO, chemicals, anthrax, cake with a file hidden inside, IED, RRD, pornographic material, cup cakes with the little flowers on the top, lewisite)

You may want to check if UPS will deliver to PO Box.

Reminds me of how some old grads call the place, "the other Federal Penitentiary on the Hudson"....north of Sing Sing...

LOL @Ted75 and your post reminded me of Aday weekend. We drove past a prison, we joked with our cadet how it was like WP. The big difference being that in prison, you get out early for good behavior while at WP, you get out early for bad behavior.

Note to the OP - if you cadet friend has a common name, you may want to include his/her middle name. My daughter mailed her friend with a very common name a batch of cookies. Later we found out that he got them quite late since there were two cadets with the same name. From then on, she always included his middle name. The correct PO BOX should h have prevented this from happening, but in this case, there was still a mix up.

By security they meant UPS goes to a different address that can accept packages (UPS won't deliver to a PO Box)...it takes an extra day to get to where a cadet can pick it up.

There's a different address for UPS & FedX shipments.
Cadet _____ ______
745 Brewerton Rd #xxxx
West Point, NY 10997-xxxx

The xxxx is your cadet's PO Box #
