My DS just did a practice CFA with me yesterday.
He did;
7:30 for 1 mile (below average)
95 sit-ups (max)
75 push-ups (max)
8.4 for shuttle run (below average)
69 feet on basket ball throw (average)
9 pull ups (average)
Are these passing for Army or Navy? Any thoughts? Is he ready for real test? Qualified person's honest comments would be very appreciated. Thanks,

That is a pass

My DS took the real CFA today and he did;

1. Basket Ball Throw: 71.5 feet
2. Shuttle-Run : 8.6 sec
3. Pull-ups: 5
4. Sit-ups: 88
5. Push-ups: 75
6. 1 Mile-Run: 7:00 minutes flat

His performance kind of fluctuated, compared to the one he did with me last week. Again, is it a pass for both Army & Navy? Your comments are appreciated. Thanks, again, guys.

That is a pass as well. And for anyone who is maybe curious how I know or not, at NASS the majority of my platoon compiled all of our numbers up into one spreadsheet. From this we were able to determine roughly what a pass and fail was based on performance in each event and overall performance. So when I say that I think it is a pass, I just mean from my documentation and experience it is, I am in no way, shape, or form, an expert on the service academies.

By no means am I an expert either, but I thought I read somewhere that 6 pullups was the "unadvertised" minimum; 9 is the published average on the CFA instructions.

Can anyone else chime in?

A bunch of my squad-mates passed only doing 3 or 4 pullups and doing average on everything else. Only me and one other kid from my platoon hit double digits on pullups, yet the majority of people passed.

I'll give you some information given to my son for focusing on his retake.
When his Admissions Counselor talked to him about retaking. She ONLY focused on three areas...sit ups, push ups and the 1.5 mile run when she gave him the PFT minimums for USNA. They are looking for those minimums, which are a "D" level at school for them. So they want you to do better than that.
Even his BGO said to focus on those three items.

My DD hasn't taken the test yet but will do so before the month is over. She was struggling with the pull ups.
Currently her stats are:
78 sit ups
33 push ups
1 pull up
45 ft basket ball throw
9 sec. shuttle run
7:30 mile
Would this be a pass?
Thanks!

I am not sure about the scores for women, but that looks pretty good. One thing that I have picked up from rummaging through this forum is that doing one pullup for a woman is better than any score for the flexed arm hang.

My DDs PE teacher just entered her CFA scores today. It shows as a green check on the portal. Does that mean she passed? Thanks!!

On the Portal or somewhere on the Web or USMA site there is some science-based workout routines for CFA. If your DS/DD has the time, do the work outs. No matter how strong or weak, it's about improving and trajectory. Pullups are the hardest and bust people out. But the minimum on RDAY is three or go home. That's not a lot.

If an applicant (female) did the flexed arm hang in lieu of pull ups for the CFA, are 3 pull-ups still required or go home?

My DD was told 1 pull up rates higher then a 19 sec flex arm hang. She's just going to do the 1 pull up. I believe 1 for female is a pass. If I am wrong, please correct me!

Actually I meant on RDAY. What if a candidate can't do any pull ups on RDAY? She did arm hang for CFA.
