So, I am sitting in my room at Tyndall now. Just arrived. Just when I was excited to have my own room again, I must share a bathroom. Go figure. And the guy next door is missing and the bathroom is locked! DOH! This will be an interesting trip...

this is for your summer long research thing right? how'd you get out of attending graduation for that?

Lots of programs miss graduation, since I'm not graduating, its not essential that I be there. Though, I return from Thursday to Monday for Ring dance. Otherwise, I'll be here for the next 5 weeks!

The VOQ isn't that bad. The shared bath is better then the accomodations back at camp USAFA right? Go see the desk to open the bathroom door.

Actually, I'm going to see if a VOQ is an option tomorrow because we're in the VAQ now...

I actually like the USAFA accomodation! But then, I'm not sharing with a stranger!

I'm doing research here at AFRL on polymer incorporated biocides and toxin denaturants. :) lol There's two of us from the chemistry department working on projects.

weird chem guys :)

awesome though, sounds like it'll be a ton of fun!

Hornet, are you gonna get to author/publish a paper on this? Or are you more on the practical end of the reasearch?

You know Hornet last time I was at Tyndall they had Mosquitoes as big as birds and they were bloodthirsty suckers too. Of course I was living in a tent at the Silver Flag center in the swamp. Nasty Tarpin and gators too. Scared me to death.

I didn't like sweating two minutes after I got out of the shower either....Coming from Houston you will be used to the humidity though.

Practical side! Some neat things going on here, I'm excited to be hitting the labs. The head scientist I am working for truly is a mad scientist! The people here are a blast and are helping us out a lot. I have a feeling we're going to have tons of fun.

Actually, its been windy and cold enough for me to need a jackets the last 2 days!!! They are telling us its a fluke, but we must have brought Colorado with us. lol. But I'm so happy to be in a 'warm' place again. Can't wait for the sunny weather to hit the beach and walk around.

Did some unit PT, aka soccer, with the squad today. Had a blast, it was great weather (chilly) so we had a lot of fun. Plus, we're hearing who the new LTs that are coming from the academy and we know some of them. Also, the 2LT who is the exec officer is heading to CSprings for USAFA graduation to commission her sister who both my friend and I here know because she's in the next squad over. Small world.

Needless to say again, we're really excited. Good chance we're gonna get a back seat ride in an F-15 too! We were watching the F-22s on the line and taking off (about 15 of them sitting out today) which was awesome! We checked out the hush house (they take planes or engines, strap them in, and do tests on them) and they invited back to check out a test run of the F-119 engine (F-22 engine) which will include being in the cab within the hush house while they have it at max throttle! I can't wait for that either.

SWEET!! Sounds AMAZING!

What other college would this be possible at? Man, I'm excited for the next 4 years.

Have fun Hornet. Looking forward to some stories.

Hornet, please promise me two things, go to Mikato Steak House for me, and if the F119 fireballs, please explain it in detail. My family went down to Panama City Beach in the Summer of 2002 when my dad's Air Guard unit went down there to fly alerts for a while, Mikato was probably one of my favorite things I did. Also, he's a test cell guy so he brings home videos every now and then of fireballs from F-100s (the Pratt and Whitney F-15/16 engine). I've been up with my dad at work a few times and seen a few test runs but i would be absolutely stoked to see a raptor engine tied down.

Well Hornet sounds like everyone is having a great summer so far. Got a call from the littlest Golden Girl today....passed chem and is finally off Ac/Pro. even brought the GPA up significantly. What a roller coaster one semester on the Ac Deans list, one squeeking by, and another on Ac/Pro. I do not know who it is going to kill first her or me.....

The Test Stand is really cool!! I am sure they will work hard to get you guys the F-15 ride too. I have told you before what a small Blue World it is, everyone knows someone and we are all family.

Oh looks like potter may get to go hang with the Reapers at Creech when she is on leave. You guys are way to spoiled.

Heck what other SA would you be able to do this at?

Just remember hornet: push on the stick = the houses get bigger, pull on the stick = the houses get smaller. Pull too much on the stick = the houses get smaller, then start getting a LOT bigger!

Have fun. We expect PICTURES! Lots and lots of pictures!
