Good day all, I am humbled to introduce myself and my current anxieties.

I'm taking the SAT this June right after my NASS session 1. And it seems after all the practice I've taken I average ~1180-1220 give or take on my SAT practice books.

Are standardized tests a single deal-breaker? Can an otherwise strong application make up for a mediocre test score?

A little about myself, I'm Filipino, I've maintained 4.0+ throughout high school, ran Varsity Track and XC throughout, and I have a lot of extra-curriculars (i.e. US Naval Sea Cadets, AFJROTC, volunteer work, school club President, possible summer internship).

I am just on the brink of freaking out because standardized tests might be my single achilles heel. Thank you in advance for any who respond:rolleyes:

Check your PM.
It is below your name at the top right corner.

Have you considered taking the ACT test? Some people do better with that one. Good luck. Have fun at NASS.

WHOA that sounds exactly like a good friend of mine; Filipino, one of the smartest kids in the class, but the SATs weren't kind to him. At all. I think he took the SAT two times total, and the ACT once. He said something about it looking bad if you take the SAT too many times. He got into the colleges he wanted to (he wasn't shooting for service academies) though. Good luck!
