I don't know if I should sign up for AFJROTC (It's the only one my school offers) or do Human Psychology and Pre-Engineering instead. Which one looks better to USNA?

Go for it!

If you take JROTC for four years, you can get a really good recommendation from your JROTC instructors.
Especially if you do really good.
And if your unit is an honor unit with distinction, your senior instructor can even give you a nomination for USNA.
I took Army JROTC for four years and my Senior Army Instructor gave me amazing recommendations for my senators and congressman, and also provided me with another nomination for USNA (we are an honor unit with distinction).
Also, JROTC provides you with many different opportunities.
I took it for four years because it was something I was interested in and I had a lot of fun in it.
Its up to you. I believe JROTC balances out a schedule with many tough academics. It makes you a more well rounded individual.

USNA Class of 2013

my school only offers Air Force JROTC for 2 years though. Can my senior instructor still give me a nomination to USNA?

why would your school only offer rotc for 2 years?

I think it's because my high school tries to take the most neutral path possible but I asked my counselor and she said she didn't know

It depends on what kind of unit the AJROTC is.
IF it is an HONOR UNIT WITH DISTINCTION then it is probable that the instructor can give you a nomination.
Talk with the senior instructor and find out first. Not all units are the same.
In any case, the instructor can still give you great recommendations for your nomination sources and to USNA itself.
I feel that without my recommendations, I would not have had as great of a chance of gaining admission.

They will all look good to the the USNA.
So take the classes that interest YOU, and do well in it.
READ the "new FAQ's" they will save you a lot of stress and frustration.

Is 'Honor Unit With Distinction' in AFJROTC the same as 'Naval Honors School' designation for MCJROTC? Also, can you only get a nom to an academy outside of your JROTC branch during the school year which it is given the designation?

For the second part, i know we get a formal inspection every 3 years , we had one this year, but in between inspections theres still criteria our instructors have to meet and send to cadet command every summer. We remain honor unit with distinction between those as long as we uphold the criteria so im 99% sure that you can get the nomination in between.

I dont understand your second question...
But for you first question, I would talk to your senior instructor of the program. He will have your answers. And if not.. call the USNA admissions. They will def have your answer.

I too have been investigating the JROTC honor unit of distinction nomination...been looking at old threads on this forum, searching Secretary of Army website and also USNA admission website, But I am still confused. Can someone help?

Can our Army JROTC instructor nominate a cadet to the USNA? Thanks for any help!!

yes my JROTC Senior Army instructor get 4 nominations to the naval academy a year.

IF and ONLY IF your Army, Navy, Marine, or Air Force JROTC unit is a HONOR UNIT WITH DISTINCTION, then your instructor can in fact write you a nomination.
However, it is highly recommended that you seek out a congressional nomination as well as it will strengthen your application.
You CAN get a nomination from your JROTC instructor, but only under those circumstances.
Talk to your instructor as soon as you can to make sure that they can get you a nomination.
