I was wondering when we will be finding out our swab summer company assignments and mailbox numbers.

Also, if I havent turned 18 yet and I wont till the AC year starts, do i use my home address or my cga address for voting? Thanks :thumb:

They're saying company and mailbox assignments will be available / sent out about two weeks before R-Day.

In many states (CA for example) you can register to vote if you will be 18 before the next election. You don't actually have to be 18 to register. I am planning on using my CGA mailbox and registering permanent vote-by-mail in my home county.

Things get a little complicated if there's a special election in the middle of the summer (pretty rare, but California being California, it just might happen), but the folks at the Registrar's office said that if were to call and explain my situation more than 30 days before the election, they can send the send the ballot somewhere else.

I'm using my home address to register to vote because I still want to participate in FL politics because that is my actual home state.

most people here register in their home state and then vote absentee

So would i use my home address and then have my parents mail me the absentee ballot and then i mail it back to them and they turn it in for me?

No. You register to vote in your district in your state. Then you register to vote absentee. Your election committee will send your absentee ballot to the address you give as your absentee address for EVERY election, even those small seemingly unimportant ones.

just register in your state for now and then get the absentee stuff set up when you get here. there is plenty of help here for that.

I have a typical mom question... I am a little afraid to ask this, but can anyone tell me what a typical swab summer day will be like? My son doesn't like to talk about it, but it would be helpful to know what the days will be like!

There's great info on the Parent's Association Website at http://www.uscgaparents.org/faqs.html. Below is an excerpt:
