....is brutal. I want to wrap son in bubble wrap. He just wants to go on surf camping trip, hang out and do normal summer outdoorsy, active stuff. I know he needs to go and do these things, but jeez, couldn't he just sit home and not tempt fate? Anyone else out there in the same boat?

I am definitely planning to enjoy my almost month of summer!

They just announced on the 2013 facebook group that the c/o 2013 will be getting a 15" MacBook Pro for their laptop

I hear you!

Isn't that the truth!! Same scenario!! I am thinking and imagining all kinds of injuries that could sideline SWAB summer, etc. Son thinks I worry too much; but my answer is that moms are "paid" to do that:smile:
So cool about the laptop too.

It's getting closer, 33 days 14 hours 50 minutes until R-day reporting at 0700.

That's only 806 hours from now.

They are also issuing each swab an I-pod and $100 worth of I-tunes to download. Got this on good authority from the "admiral."

Shellz,

I know how you feel. My family and I went mountain biking on a "triple red" path yesterday and my son wanted to go down this really steep rocking part. I was whining the whole time, "You better not break your arm!" And can you imagine...all my complaining was just so he doesn't hurt himself for AIM in July, not even the "real-deal" yet. -officer

lol...I can so hear myself saying the exact same thing. Son likes to body board, surf, and rock climb. Asked him to not add any new high risk activities to his condensed summer! It will all be fine. That's my mantra and I'm sticking to it!

I know... and they are supposed to stay in shape, so our son is running, swimmming, pushups and situps.... but I keep telling him not to hurt himself! They must think we are SO obnoxious! At least he doesn't graduate from High School until the last weekend in June, there isn't too much down time!

I told me son he could not do the 5 Boro Bike Tour with his Dad and friends boy was he upset. I also said no to camping. If I could keep him on home sitting on the couch I would.

UGH... Joyce went Kyaking yesterday..... I wasnt worried about her drowning.. just doing something dumb...
all she got was sunburned.. :)

My son is still doing all the usual stuff...wants to surf/camp/bike ride, etc. It's pretty much killing me to stand by and watch, but he is 18 and we gave him the pink slip to his life. So hard to stay out of it....so very hard!

Fingers crossed for an incident free 30 days or so.
