Can people fail the cfa and not get in because of it?

Is doing poorly on one section of the cfa hurt your score significantly?

Does maxing some parts of the cfa give a significant boost?

Are some section worth more than others?

On the afa booklet, they tell you to keep your chin up when doing pull ups and tell you when to go down, but at summer seminar we just did it regularly. What is the actual method?

-thanks!

i'd imagine they were not deemed physically fit if they didn't get a reasonable cfa score, so they could be turned down. they don't give you a minimum to shoot for, which is why they want you to do the best you can. obviously, going for the maxes will help you dramatically. but remember, being physically fit is only part of the puzzle (academics, nomination, athletics, leadership, etc.). do your best on the cfa, cuz you're going up against everyone else in the country vying for a spot. i believe the standards change from year to year. good luck!! :thumb:

Yes, you can fail.
Yes, scoring low is bad.
Yes, scoring well is good.

Each section should be worth from 0 to 100 points, AFAIK.

Go with whatever was in the booklet. The one at the summer seminar was just to give you a feel for what the CFA is like, it was by no means up to official standards in every aspect.

Yes, I'm pretty sure the pullups must be done at a cadence. This prevents you from "resting" in the up or down position. And generally if you keep your chin up by looking up, the pullups are slightly easier.

"Raise your body until your jaw line is parallel to the ground and above the bar, then return to a “dead hang” position."

nope. Pull-ups are at whatever pace we want. We are allowed to rest in the down position.

What if your coach and a teacher can't help you with the CFA. Who can help and what should I do?

If a coach or PE teacher can't do it, I guess the next person to ask would be your ALO.

The CFA is generally a one shot deal, so do your best. If you do poorly as I did, the AFA can ask you to retake the CFA.
