I have a small issue. I have my appointment, but I am really short. (like 60.5" tall, i'm a girl obviously) I am athletic, I played 2 varsity sports and compete in triathlons, BUT i'm over the weight limit thing that I found on the army website. I.ve been tryingreally hard to make the weight but it looks like even with working out 2-3 times daily and cutting out excess sugars, fats, and carbs from my diet I'm still gonna be about 10lbs over on r-day. my issue is i'm trying to lose the weight without sacrificing my health.
Its not like I'm not athletic, I'm not going to have any problems with the APFT or the PT at all, I'm just of a heavier build than a lot of girls.
Several of my friends are wrestlers and they said they can help me do it if I really really need to but it sounds pretty awful to do it their way, but I would be willing to if it would be the only way.
MAIN QUESTION- Is the Height/Weight standard mandatory or just a guideline? Will I not be accepted because I can't get down to that weight?
