Hey i learned tonight that i will be disqualified by the DODMERB for having tubes in my ears ( pretty sure that is considered middle ear). I was curious how hard is it to get a waiver for this considering i will be a strong candidate. I will be a JR this year.

Do tubes count as middle ear surgery? I had them when I was younger but I didn't think they required a waiver..

Send me your posting along with your fulkl names and last 4 of your SSN. I can assist you better from there=Larry.Mullen@dodmerb.tma.osd.mil:thumb:

Some general information regarding tubes. If you had tubes as a young child there should not be any issues as long as the ear drums have healed up. In the majority of cases these are not an issue.

Okay...if you've never seen an Ear, Nose, and Throat specialist about this...it's just that's the ONLY time you have issues, then my guess is that you simply don't know how to equalize the pressure on the inner ear underwater. It's a common malady among novice scuba divers and is EASY to correct.

However...if it's ever been ANYTHING more than that, then you need to speak to the expert on this board...Mr. Mullen.
