You can rest assured that the time is passing much slower for you than it is for your children.

Each day for them feels like an eternity but the weeks FLY by! :thumb:

BZ22. It's normal, and you will never stop missing your kids :) My KP'er was my "baby" so the house really felt empty. However, when you see him flourish and you see the young man he is becoming at Parents Weekend you will feel much better. Indoc is just the tip of the iceberg. When he goes to sea you may not hear from him for weeks/months on end.

I can't stress enough that you should not put a lot of pressure on him to call you. Once the academic year starts, he will look back at Indoc and think it was a piece of cake. This school is hard and spare time is almost nonexistent. If your son does have (or seems to you that he does) a lot of spare time, speak with him, because he's not applying himself in his academics. I feel lucky if I get 1 call a week. Remember they are craming 4 years of academics into 3 years and not only that craming about 170 credits into those 3 years too:eek:

EXACTLY what they told all of us new KP Parents during the gathering in the auditorium on I-Day.
