Man2112; the others said it, but I can see how it might sound a bit confusing. The nominations do NOT come from your representative/senators that fill the role of "STATE REP or STATE SENATE". In other words, not those that work in your Capital city of your state. It has to be the U.S. Senators for your state; and your U.S. House of rep for your district. These are the 3 people who have a full time office in Washington D.C.
I only reiterated the answer luigi and drew said, because the question came up last year and the word "STATE" really had a person confused. They called their "State" rep and senator looking for a nomination. When what they wanted was their U.S. Rep and Senator that represents their STATE. Best of luck. Mike.....
