Sunday phone calls

Not in the Midwest yet. i gather the forum will be quiet today...waiting and digesting what was said.

The pictures have been wonderful but I saw my son has what was described as a 'sick chit' arm band on. Have so many questions for him but I know we were advised to 'let them do all the talking' which I will follow.

Does anyone know if anyone of authority will be within earshot of them while they have their phone call?

No call yet ...... sounds like a DI will be close by according to earlier posts........we decided to stay home from church....did not give him the cell/mobile numbers as the point of contact for today.....just the home phone.........with no Friday pics posted, just looking forward to knowing all is well ....also curious about how hard the math placement test was.

Just got our phone call

We are in Amarillo, Texas and just got it. He used his cell phone and it kept breaking up but he is doing fine.:thumb:

Got a call

Well we got our call!!! I can tell you this much it definitely was not any "5" minutes!!!! I didn't have any time to figure out if he is really ok or just trying to make me feel better??? Of course, he says he hates it. He has joined some groups so on the other hand maybe its not as bad as he makes it sound. He got in trouble because he asked to do the "intense training" because the regular PT is easy he said. He wants to do more physical training so he can keep in shape for wrestling season and the DI's said that is only for people who get in trouble and yelled at him for it!!!! I guess his room mate laughs at everything so he has to pay the price as well. Although, he said him and his room mate get along very well. I don't know if I feel better or worse now????? He also told us he hurt his shoulder and had to go to see the Orthopedic doctor. Well that is the shoulder he had to have rebuilt a year and a half ago!!!!!! Then quickly says it is ok, don't worry, I have to go!!!!!! I guess I'll just have to wait until we can communicate by email!!!

forgot

i didn't mention that our son garrick is in first company!!! he also said that the math placement test didn't seem that hard.

woohoo, phone calls are-a-coming. As noted above the 5 minutes go by way fast, so be prepared.

Just got our call from 2nd company

Just spoke with our son from Company 2. Sounds tired, but good. Says the hardest part is waking up at 5:30am. Today was good cuz they got to sleep in until 6:30. Sounded like his DIs and other PC were standing right next to him so conversation seemed a bit stilted, but then again he has never been one to talk on the phone. He has had fun with the rifle drill, survival suits, sailing (twice) and putting out fires. He likes his room mate. Says there isn't much time for writing as they are always cleaning. His wrestling shoulder injury acted up and they've had him on anti-inflamatories, but it is better now.

The 5 minutes fly by. I taped the call and it was 4 minutes and 49 seconds, but it felt much shorter.

I feel much better having heard his voice!

Enjoy your calls!

How'd you tape the call? on a separate recorder? I praticed last night w/ our home machine and it didn't work. I called home from my cell.

Son in 4-02 called at 1030 central

son in 4-02 just called at 1030 central. the five minutes flew by. he called with a phone they handed him (DI?)...so beware call might not come from expected phone number. pick up!

he was in good spirits, eating well and in good health. he mentioned that some were ill with flu and quarenteed.

taped the call using a video recorder

We had our PC call on our cell phone, then had it on speaker phone so we could both hear him. Our youngest son came up with the idea of video taping the call so we have the recording digitally. We just turned on the video camera when he called and now we have a 5 minuted picture of a cell phone with audio. Now we can save it on the computer also.

Just heard from our son in 2nd company. Sounded great, really likes it there. Math test was difficult. Enjoy your calls!!!
