Ok all you "experienced" folks, I would like to ask a question.

What is the typical atmosphere for a KP home football game? Fan and fan participation vary all over the map. Just wonder if KP is a loud and active group or are they a "wine and cheese" group...as we call the quiet crowds in our neck of the woods.

Trying to get my mind right for my first game on Parent's Weekend.

I only made it to the one game during parents week-end last year. That was something with the hurricane remant going through at half-time and raining the entire 2nd half.

I watched other games on the website. Very spirited with the Plebes required to be there and do push-ups on each point scored.

Admiral Steward was pacing the bench and without a raincoat so he got wetter than wet.

The Coast Guard game will really get everyone going. The big rival game!! :shake:

BEAT COAST GUARD!!

My mid is at sea right now and so I will not be there. Have fun!! :thumb:

Coast Guard is most assuredly NOT a wine-and-cheese game, as you describe. The stands will be packed with the entire KP regiment as well as the Coast Guard regiment, along with many fans on both sides. Add to that the crowd from Parent's Weekend, and it will be a very loud atmosphere.
As a football parent, I wish all the games were as well attended, but there is always a loud contingent of parents, families and friends of the team to root the Mariners on. And there is always a nice post-game tailgate meal for the players, whether home or away.
2013parent - sent you a PM, too.

I have some short vids of the CG game last year. PM me for the link if you'd like to see them. Those Mids sure are reserved & well behaved. I lost hearing in one ear for about a week but it was a good time.

I concur much more a Virginia Tech kind of atmosphere than a "William & Mary" crowd though W&M does have "The Tribe"....

No KP Football doesn't draw a Wine & Cheese Crowd especially to a game against COast Gaurd...

In addition, the Secretary of Transportation and the Secretary of Homeland Security will be at the football game as well. This is KP's version of the Army/Navy game. I can guarantee you that everyone will be very excited! Parents should enjoy this because Coast Guard weekend is usually different than Parents Weekend, so you will get to enjoy.

GO KP.........BEAT THOSE BEARS!!!!!!

Tsk Tsk Luigi. Now you know the only reason why KP beat the complete snot out of CG at last year's game was due to my blue face painted presence. I brought such luck! Stop with all the angry faces poor thing. You have your luck to add to this year & I wish you well with it. Even though I see some KP parents here who might just match any lucky star of yours at this year's game.....

I recall almost having to take out Boss's son trying to steal our flag once though. Good thing for the watchful eye of my pirates. Aye, a good lot of 'em they arrrrrrrrr.

I couldn't keep my eyes of the seagull mascot, is that what its supposed to be? What happened to the Ancient Mariner, the guy from the Capt Morgan Rum bottle?

I'm still trying to figure out why we are playing 3 out of 4 Secretaries Cup games AT KP! Last year, this year, and in 2012 are all at USMMA.

Something's fishy.

Now that you mention it..... Oh well. Guess that guy I passed $$ to over the last few years to keep it on KP's turf paid off. LOLZ I will give you credit that your FB field has the sweeter view. Very nice.

Don't you sass our "seagull". I saw him knock down your teddy. And if you'd just keep an open mind and watch some of my vids, you'd see the Captain Morgan pirates running all amuck as good pirates should. :shake:

I sure wish I could be there this year. Sigh. I'd give you such a black & blue arm with all the punching I'd be doin'.

Best question I've heard from a Coastie in a long time. They pulled that stupid seagull out of the closet my senior year...one of the worst idea's the athletics dept came up during my time there. Was supposed to be some Sea Eagle or something like that...

Give me my Captain Morgan back :)

Was supposed to be some Sea Eagle or something like that...:)

I've been told dozens of time from KP coaches that it IS a Sea Eagle http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White-bellied_Sea-eagle..ugh I think they just don't know how to spell Seagull.

Seagulls are vicious, birds who love to pick the carcass of dead bears.......so that will work just fine on Saturday 12 September.

Don't worry Jamzzz I'll be there with my blue/gray and hillbilly teeth :) grin grin

GO KP.............BEAT COAST GUARD!!!!
:hammer:

Because well - we're just in a better place to be...
