Well, I'm applying to both the USAFA and AFROTC. I just find it kind of frustrating that ROTC doesn't accept the Academy's CFA for it's PFT requirement for applying. I mean, in my opinion, the CFA is much more difficult than the PFT, and is more broad in testing the whole person. Do you guys agree?

EDIT: The topic was supposed be "Somewhat a pain...", I guess I just left the "what" out..
 
AFROTC is different than USAFA. Admissions for academy and AFROTC scholarships are headed by different leadership, so they establish different criteria. My advice is don't be frustrated, and just go through the tests. If you do PFT first, you'll be more prepared for CFA. If you do CFA first, you'll find PFT to be easier. Try to look at everything with a positive light, and you'll be happier. (That last statement is especially true for 4 deg year:)
 
you're not talking about the PFT USAFA cadets take are you? because that's a lot harder than the CFA in my opinion

definitely not....the CFA winded me, but the first time i took PFT, it KILLED me!

The PFT for AFROTC is the same as the Air Force PFT. It's only like pushups, situps, and run. It's much easier than USAFA PFT. In fact, I was told USAFA PFT is the hardest in the military.

Especially when they make you do the run in that VERY dry field house.
