AROTC 1st Board

Gee, didn't they say results wouldn't be posted until sometime in January? You won't hear anything before that.

While we are all waiting... Anyone want to chance me?
30 ACT
UW GPA: 3.37
W GPA: 3.72

EC: Club swimming since 7th grade, varsity HS swimming all 4 years, NHS, 3 years of honors band and pep band, lifeguard and red cross certified Water Safety Instructor

Leadership: Captain of swim team (96 total kids), freshman advisory leader for 2 years (competive spot to get)

Interview: This was weird. I emailed the ROO and set up an interview thinking he was going to set me up with the PMS at that battalion. Instead, the ROO conducted the interview and gave me a bunch of high pressure questions about a hypothetical situation where I was an officer who had to make a decision about a war scenario. He started counting down real fast so I answered quickly. Later found out he was an armor officer for 20 years.
Anyone else experience anything like this?

Many folks are interviewed by the ROO. It might even be the norm. I can see where that type of question makes sense. It's not about whether its right or not, it's to see if you can make a "decision" rapidly while under pressure... just like you will as an officer in a combat situation. If you can't cut it in the squad bay you probably can't do it on the battlefield. Ultimately this is all about the battlefield, right?

Curious to know what day last week your DS changed to Boarded/Under Consideration. And what time did it change to Boarded this morning?
@THmom - I think DS went to B/UC late Tuesday afternoon and it changed to Boarded around 11:30 EST today.

Does the change to Boarded have any significance?
No idea - in reading old posts from last year there seemed to be a correlation between the change to Boarded and the release of the award notices, but they stated awards would be mid January so we are no reading anything into it.

It seems like it was an indication that an award was imminent.

DS status changed last week to Boarded/UC last Tuesday morning and changed to Boarded this morning. Good luck to everyone!

I read that as well, but there was never a consistent message as to what the change to Boarded from Boarded/Under Consideration means. Just 1 more step in the process.

Looking at the application status timeline and thinking logically, if one were "Boarded/Under Consideration", the next move would either be "Winner" or "Not Selected". Doesn't make sense that the application would revert to a status that it had already achieved.🤔

I agree. Wouldn’t “boarded” mean that it is already boarded for the 2nd board. But I think we may all be grasping for straws here :)
