For anyone considering Texas A&M, our son just returned from a "Spend the Night with the Corps" event and had a great time. You can check out the TAMU website for details. I think it gave him a good view of what life in the Corps would entail. He stayed after the event to attend Midnight Yell on Friday, the football game on Saturday, and even went to a Bonfire "cut" on Sunday morning with our daughter, who's a student there. The full "Aggie experience" was great! :thumb:

"Gig 'em Aggies!" :thumb:

My daughter also attended a weekend with the Corps that was especially for Eagle Scouts and Gold Award Girl Scouts. She had a great time and is really looking forward to being an Aggie!

Of course, it helps that she is third generation!

Gig Em!
Class of 1978

That's great jbowman55! Has your daughter applied for an ROTC scholarship? There seems to be ton of Corps scholarships available, as well. Best of luck to your future Aggie!

She has applied for a Navy ROTC scholarship. Has a little DODMERB problem--rotator cuff surgery in Sept. Rehab is going well, but it seems to be a hold-up.:thumb:

Good news! She got the NROTC scholarship!

Now we can add class of 2014 to our line!
1952 (grandfather), 1952 (grandfather), 1978 (mom), 1986 (dad), 2012 (cousin), 2014 (daughter)
