Does anyone know how long it takes the supplemental forms to arrive at and be processed by the Academy? I mailed them off (certified) about a week and a half ago and they aren't grayed out on my admissions file yet....

My guess, and experience from last year, is that they have most likely arrived but have not been physically seen by Admissions yet. Admissions has to go through thousands of applications and supplemental forms...from last year, there was literally a room stuffed full of files of different applicants. If you want to know specifically if yours arrived, I would email your admissions officer...don't worry, it always takes longer for the forms to appear "grayed out" online.

As an AAP were were instructed that it could take as few as 2 weeks (early in the process) and as many as 4 weeks (during the rush) for these documents to show as 'received' (greyed out).

We sent in all the forms about two weeks ago and they have not been greyed out. Since applications are due by Nov 1, for early action, should you call to confirm receipt? We do know, however, that they were signed for at the Academy. We sent them certified.

I wouldn't worry too much about the "lack list" matching what you have sent it, it's not updated in real-time or even daily.

You can always contact an AAP and ask them to check your status on the AAP Portal site, or call/email your Admissions Officer directly.

I second that! Luigi was ever so helpful for us last year...son's lack list never got re-set during his reapplication, so we never quite knew where he stood unless we had someone check into it for us.

The waiting sure is hard...hang in there. It will end...sooner or later!

Mine were received three weeks ago and still haven't been updated on the lack list yet either.

Thanks guys!....now I only have to finish up one more essay and then I'm finished with the application!:thumb:

I sent in my stuff the 3rd week of September, and my stuff still isn't greyed out. So I contacted my AO, and he said that it was received, it just takes awhile to show it. No Worries.

will the academy send me a letter telling me if everything is recieved for EA or do i just check my profile? i just want to make sure all the paperwork will be reviewed. Thank you.

logcabin4,

My daughter is getting ready to send in the supplemental forms and will do so by certified mail/return receipt. This will ensure she knows they were received by USCGA (p.s. it is good to keep good quality copies of everything just in case package is lost).

Good luck!!

Sometimes it is difficult to make copies especially the recs since they are in a sealed envelope. Do you just hope that once the package gets to the academy that it is all kept together in your folder. Does the academy contact you if something is missing because you are really depending on your high school to submit what is required since our high school will not allow the students to collect or send off any information to the various colleges. This is done by the staff in the college counseling office.

I would also suggest you make copies of anything that you can. We, too, had sealed envelopes which we could not copy. We sent the entire packet certified, kept checking the tracking number on line...according to the postal service, it never got there! We were so upset, thinking about how son would have to run around and ask everyone to re-do the work they had already done. However, he spoke with his admissions officer and they verified the package was received--even though the items are not crossed off on line. So, my advice would be to call before the Nov. 1 deadline, just to be sure. It will be a weight off your mind!
