I received a letter today with an offer to NAPS. I would not be honest if I said I was not disappointed it is not a direct offer to the Naval Academy but I also understand it is a great opportunity. My questions is how is NAPS funded?

Hey, don't get discouraged. NAPSters actually have a higher success rate of graduating from USNA than straight admissions. I know that it may seem discouraging but you'll make a lot of great friends and when it comes times to enter the Class of 2015 you'll be a leg up on many in your company.

What exactly are you wondering about funding for NAPS. Are you wondering generally how it works or if you'll need to pay for some things?

Yes, I am wondering how things are paid for and what I will be responsible for. Thank you for the encouragement.

See my response in "Napsters out there". I have a Napster and outlined the costs associated with this year's class

Most of the costs associated with NAPS are funded by the US taxpayer. Foundation schools are funded in part with scholarships provided by the schools, in party with private support raised by the Foundation, and in part by contributions of parents based on their ability to pay.
