Does it look bad if you take a standardized test 4-5 times? I'm not much of an ACT person so I've done much better on the SAT. The reason why i take the ACT is so that i have a backup in case my SAT scores are low, but i've consistently been scoring low on the ACT. Also I take it because my school gives me fee waivers for them. I've taken the ACT about 3 times already and I've gotten between 25-27 composite. I'm planning to take it one last time this December, and I am worried the academy may look at it badly that I've taken it so many times, and that I've recieved such low scores.

From reading previous posts, I don't think matters how many times you've taken it. They just take your best scores, and thats what shows on your status anyways. Good Luck!

The answer is no.

FYI...I took both the SAT and ACT, are you ready....

TWELVE times.

Got my appointment during my second year of applying.

how about for nominations? Generally, do MOC boards look negatively towards a large amount of standardized tests taken?

I chair one of these and the answer, from my perspective and the board I sit with, is no.

What we LIKE to see is when a student says "I need to do better" and then takes the steps to do precisely that.

It shows determination.
