Hey guys, my name is Jonathan, I'm a junior right now in high school

I live on Long Island as well. NROTC and USMMA hopeful (just waiting for a nomination) and accepted in SUNY Maritime.

Welcome to the forum!

Could I, in some way - encourage you to consider the State University Maritime College in your list of prospective colleges?

I spend some time on this forum - and am always amazed when high school students do not consider the State Maritime Academies in addition to the federal service academies.

If you are not considering them - at some point - if you feel comfortable with doing so - feel free to contact me either through this forum - or by emailing me directly. I'd really like to know why the State Maritime Academies would not be on your radar screen.

Hey cool, three of us are from Long Island.

Applied for an AFROTC scholarship - should get the results in two weeks.

Right now in your junior year is a great time to get started on working these things out if you haven't already.
Don't hesitate to ask questions around here, there are a lot of great people who can help you out :wink:

Edit: Oh wow, I just noticed this topic was from November. Oh well, still doesn't hurt to see other people form Long Island :thumb:
