I can not find anywhere on the AROTC website who can administer the Physical Fitness Asssessment. Can a gym teacher or guidance counselor adminster it? Does it have to be someone from the applicant's High School?

Thanks

For purposes of this thread, I will take it that you are talking about the PFT (Presidential Fitness Test) as opposed to the APFT (Army Physical Fitness Test).

IIRC, the form to be turned in indicates that either a coach or PE teacher from school should administer it. And I believe the school nurse is supposed to sign the height and weight part of the form as well. If your school does not have a school nurse, or you are homeschooled, I'm sure Cadet Command will let you know who can certify the results if you email them.

As to your guidance counselor, I think any licensed teacher can teach PE, therefore s/he should technically be qualified.

I go to an alternative school so I contacted a local hs football coach and he was able to give it.

Your local recruiter and/or ROTC battalion can administer it as well.

So, both of the coaches in the sports that I used to play have moved on from my high school (one moved and the other got a different job so he can't coach us full time anymore).

Plus I currently do not play any sports, so would I just be better off contacting my local recruiter?

thanks

Any high school coach can do it as long as they are willing to.
Does not have to be a coach that actually knows you.
