I recently took a look over my current "resume" and noticed that while I am pretty well off in academics and athletics, I am severely lacking in leadership...here's my predicament:
First off, I am a Cadet Corporal in my school's MCJROTC program...I have no staff positions (or positions at all, really) in the program and my promotion prospects look poor at this point.
Secondly, as far as service clubs I am in (Beta and Math Honor Society), the leadership is elected mostly from seniors and the one officer position open to a sophomore (points secretary) was taken up before I even had a chance.
Thirdly, for the sports I am involved in I am okay at them but not superb and thus cannot be a team captain in them because those are reserved for better players.
Overall trends at my school is there are way too many people vying for leadership positions that have better creds than me, leadership is given mostly to seniors, and I am not particularly heavily involved in an activity.
Now some bright spots that am delving into...I am going to ask my coach to be a leader in the school's FCA club I am a member of (this may or may not fall through). Also, I am thinking about becoming a project chairperson in one the service clubs but can't think of a project. As for my JROTC and sports leadership, I am at a loss as to what to do.
Any advice on the matter would be greatly appreciated...
