My scholarship status has remained the same for quite a while, stating that a selection will be made at a later date. Does anyone know the board dates for AFROTC scholarships?

per another post:

Per the FAQ on afrotc.com:

Board results are scheduled to be released on or around the following dates:

* Dec. 28 2009
* Feb.15 2010
* Mar. 14 2010
* April 18 2010

Mine says: "Your Air Force ROTC Scholarship interview has been received and processed. Your record will meet the next available selection board. You can check back here to find the results of the board. We will mail you a letter notifying whether or not you have been offered a scholarship." Everyone's is probably the same until they start going to the boards. Hopefully we will all hear good news in December.

Later,

Brian

My daughter's AFROTC scholarship status says the same thing. I believe Pima posted in a different thread that the board actually met in November, but it takes 4-6 weeks for the results to be posted. Thus the December 28th release date. Good Luck everybody.

Yes, aglages, that is correct, if you met the November board your results will be available for the Dec release. Beware, some candidates will get a letter stating at this time we cannot offer one, but you will be meeting the next board. This typically occurs for 2 reasons.
1. They had too many applications to complete all of the files.
2. You are on the cusp. This does not mean you are on the cusp of no scholarship, but can also mean between the types available.

Good luck

Need advise re: SAT scores

We have not sent my D's SAT scores for her AFROTC scholarship yet b/c her last test scores were not the greatest. She's taking the test again this Saturday which is still within the AFROTC application guidelines.

So AFROTC will not receive her scores until end of December/early January. Can someone give us an idea of when her application will be reviewed by the board?

Thank you in advance for you help!

The scholarship board meets approximately 4-6 weeks before they release the results. If the first 2010 results are scheduled to be released on Feb 15, 2010, it would seem to indicate that the next board will meet during the first two weeks of January 2010. I don't know whether your daughter's results and application will be completed in time for that board, but hopefully this information will help you with your question.

Good luck to you and your daughter.

Thank you Aglages. If we send her current test scores now and she is not approved by the January board, can we send her December scores (if it's better, of course) to help with the next board review?

The letter I received from Maxwell AFB/HSSP on September 16,2009 stated:

The next board and release dates are
Scheduled Board Dates ---- Expected Release Dates
07-11 December 2009 ---- 24 December 2009
25-29 January 2010 ---- 12 February 2010
22-26 February 2010 ---- 12 March 2010
29 March- 02 April 2010 ---- 16 April 2010

The deadline for submitting info is 09 Jan 2010 so additional scores may have to be rushed depending on when the results are available.
Here's hoping we all get good news for Christmas!

My opinion is that I'd send whatever test results you have (assuming they meet the minimums) right now and get in front of as many boards as possible. The worse that will happen is that they won't make a decision (award a scholarship) for THAT particular board and just review your application again during the next board. Even if you are not selected by the first board, you will definitely have your new (and hopefully better) test scores added to you file for all the following boards.

BTW - if you review the dates in the post above mine, it would seem to indicate that your newest test scores may actually have slightly more time to make it in for review. Again, I would NOT wait....submit what you have as soon as possible. Good luck!
