"Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens" A few of your favorite things (to counter the Petty Grudge thread)

TCM with my Mom and arguing who was better, Fred Astaire or Gene Kelly. Classic Astaire or physical Kelly.

We did our nation’s birthday celebration with daughter and family yesterday since they will party with the other Joneses today.

‘Twas a good time with great food. My youngest grandson turns five this month. He’s a good looking kid. I mean really good looking. We catch people in public staring at him. “Hey, perv, get your eyeballs off my grandson.”

Anyway, I’d want hugs from him regardless, so yesterday I called him over. “What?“ he asks.

Give me a hug, it won’t be long before you won’t want to I tell him.

He hugged me with one of those head-on-the-chest hugs and he held it for a few seconds.

It was a great day.

Two Marines at the house as they transition from California to Mass. One out and one going reserve. 2 1/2 Grandson gave me a big hug this morning but two month old granddaughter only gave a smile. I can wait. It is good to be alive. Then I started reading the news.

Spoke with my Marine yesterday while he was looking for a parking spot at Mission Beach. Says he loves it there and wants to stay.

They lived in Carlsbad while one was at Miramar and one at Pendleton. They loved it there but Daughter will be starting school in Boston in September so another move but at least a lot closer. Tell your Son to try the brunch and beach at the Del Coronado.

'Ya big softy. I love this story. My kids don't have kids. So I have a 4 legged granddog. She loves me, and loves to hug and lay her head in my lap. Not the same surely, but I enjoy it.

LOL! I actually woke up this morning and said "wait! isn't it July?! Hallmark Christmas movies!"
Guess I have been too busy scrolling through Plebe Summer photos to find DS since I got home to realize it was July :yay:
Kids are such a distraction.

“Embracing the jello.” Just as evocative as “the suck,” and more fun. For we who are not inmat… residents at the SAs.

But...some of us were paroled after fulfilling our four-year sentence...

To embrace...our vast new opportunities!
