Hi everyone, I remember about a year ago, either CC or Ramius put a description of the 4 year experience at the Academy. It told it like it was with a touch of humor in it. Does anyone remember anything like this? If so, please point me to it. Son is a 4 degree and I'd like to show it to him.

Thank you, Bill

Now it's up to you all to continue sharing. There's definitely a lot of people here who try their hardest to help applicants and cadets make it through the process. But many of us are here mainly to keep things in perspective. The real wisdom and assistance in this forum comes from YOU, the cadets and the applicants. And while no one has ever asked for anything in return; I will. Whether you receive an appointment the first time through, or have to apply a 2nd year. Or if you are fortunate enough to receive an appointment or a trip to the prep school; I WANT SOMETHING FROM YOU ALL!!!! I want you to continue on this forum and help the next batch of applicants. While people like Steve (Flieger), Bullet, Pima, Ramius, JAM, many others; and even myself, have the experience as ALO's, Cadets, Active Duty, Retired, Family members, parents, etc... we are mainly here for continuity. We know there's a turnover of posters. But if you honestly believe that you received any knowledge or help from any of us, or this forum in general; then I BEG you to continue with it. Continue giving those coming up in the process the benefit of your experience. You all are the present. It's been a while since Steve went to the academy; or Bullet was at ROTC; and I've even been retired from active duty now for 10 years. But you all are in the process. Whether a candidate or cadet. So, that is what I'm asking of you all. Remember the movie; "Pass it on". Now it's your turn. Best of luck.... Mike.....

Thanks for the link - I enjoyed reading it and had to laugh at number one since when my son got his nomination last Thursday, the first thing he posted on his Facebook page was "Hell Yeah - thank you Senator X!!!" :shake:

This site is excellent for many reasons..

But it is the balance that makes it so. I have only joined about a week ago, but have already learned so many things.

Thanks to everyone... those asking the questions and those doing the answering.

I really wish I could have gone to one of those Tail Gate's. The one time I stopped by, he wasn't there and I had to take off. Looked like a bunch of very blue and white people though (the guy I talked to was cooking up some pretty tasty looking stuff on that grill).

We may be the applicants and cadets, and we may know a lot of information about the process, but so do you. You had a son there now, and this forum helps you keep up pretty well. We may provide the knowledge, but people like Flieger, Bullet, Pima, CC and everyone else that I am forgetting, provide the wisdom of the site. I doubt this site would be thriving at all without all you guys.

Later,

Brian

P.S. I hope this doesn't mean that you are leaving any time soon.
