Holy Cow! Son's schools are listed, too.

#1
#2
#4

#6

Last night he got emails from 1, 4, and 5; so we knew about them. Now seeing 2 & 6 is like a bonus. Wow.

Thanks for the news, singaporemom. :thumb:

Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even though DS was notified by phone 3 weeks ago that he has the NROTC Marine Option, still not showing any changes to the status page, nor know what school. Still feels great, but would like the satisfaction of seeing SOMETHING CHANGE on the that %$#& status page....LOL

Son just offered AROTC scholarship to his top 2 choice schools, Ohio State and George Washingtion University.

Congrats AMI123!!!!!!!!!!!

Son knows the scholarship came yesterday, but doesn't know his school choices arrived today online. #2 Choice included room and board plus school scholarship, and he's been accepted. #3 choice is no r&B and we won't know about acceptance until March. His school choice ranks were all pretty much even in his own mind, so #2 and #3 choices made no difference to him.

He also applied to another school...off of his list.

Does he take the school that's guaranteed and hope to switch later if needed???

Congratulations AMI123 to you and your son. As an OSU alum I can heartily recommend THE OSU for a great college experience. However, according to Forbes.com, George Washington University in DC is the most expensive college in the US.

How about your son attending a college more expensive than Harvard or Yale? Good luck to you and your son.

I would say yes. You might contact the ROTC unit at the school he wants to transfer his scholarship to (when / if he gets accepted) and ask them for their advice. I'd call soon.

Yes, congrats to everyone.

However now I am a little confused as to what the next step is. I received a letter in the mail which is from my #2 college which i do not plan on attending. It is titled U.S. ARMY ROTC SCHOLARSHIP ACCEPTANCE/DECLINATION STATMENT AND PMS VALIDATION. Is it necessary to respond to this letter if I dont plan on attending the school?

My daughter received her "official" AROTC offer in the mail today. Included in the envelope was a selection sheet that listed the five schools for which she was approved. She is supposed to select ONE of these schools and return this form to the AROTC.

In answer to your question, I would use the official form in your AROTC offer letter to select the school you want to use your scholarship. No need in returning the form from your #2 school..... you may not want to burn any bridges until you're sure of where you are accepted and want to attend. Good Luck and have a Happy Holiday.
