Probably something I should have posted before winter break.
Your DDs and DSs are probably currently getting, or have gotten post Winter Break UAs, or urinalysis tests. Unfortunately, especially now with drug use legalized in many states, some Cadets and Midshipmen will come up positive.
A rumor seems to go around CNN and MNN (Cadet News Network and Midshipmen News Network) every year that Plebes get one pass on a positive drug test. This is NOT true. The wheels of justice are often slow, civilian lawyers are often brought in to challenge the validity of the tests. Congressional's are filed and responses must be written. But drug use in the Armed Forces is illegal and is punished. Talk to anyone who served in the 70’s and 80’s and you’ll probably get an earful as to why they are still illegal.
