Question about validating classes

I am particularly interested in NAPS...and was wondering about validating courses from NAPS to USNA. Does one have the ability to validate all overlapping classes from NAPS to USNA? Meaning if accepted to USNA from NAPS, a plebe would not have to take first year english, chem, physics, and calc?

There are two and maybe three parts to your question that I think would be worth a minute to make clear.
The first is that you have no control over going to NAPS, other than to decline it. You can't apply for it. You can't really ASK for it. It exists for a certain type of applicant. What that type is, is subject to debate, is not really known, and since you can't control it, it is not worth the time to go over it.
If you apply to USNA and you don't make the cut, you 'may' be considered for NAPS.
NAPS classes ARE designed to mimic the Naval Academy, but you wouldn't be going to NAPS if you were ready for USNA. Many of the classes are remedial. You test when you get to NAPS and you are placed in the appropriate NAPS classes.
That being said, you can, JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE, test and validate out of many classes. I did (from NAPS). Actually, I validated everything except Chemistry because I fell asleep during the validation exam. Not all NAPSters do, though. It can be done. Be advised, NAPS is not a free pass to breeze through the first year. If you validate plebe classes, you take Youngster classes. Same hours, same schedule, fewer classmates to call for help. You still will have 4 years of the Academy. Do it if you can, but don't count on it, and don't think NAPS gives a huge advantage that an excellent High School student could not achieve through hard work, or a 1st year college student can't also do. NAPS is not a trick to give you an advantage and skip plebe year. No matter what classes you take, when you get back to the Hall, you're still a Plebe.
As one who has been there, NAPS is a great opportunity. If you can work hard now and go straight to the Academy and skip NAPS, you will be much happier.

Thanks for the response. Of course USNA is my first choice, but I was just curious if I were offered NAPS, where I would stand academically at the academy.
