Would anyone be interested in picking a place near West Point to have a SAF dinner the night before R-Day? For New Cadets and any accompanying parents. I've seen them done before in prior years for all the academies. Anyone interested say so here, and if anyone has a restaurant suggestion post that as well.

I would be interested. I have no clue of any good restaurants around West Point though. It is a good idea though.

Actually in Highland Falls you are limited...the restaurants are small. If you go over to Central Valley, you could do TGI Fridays, Chilis, and a few others. There is the BBQ place near the Holiday Inn, near West Point...called Barnstormers. It's probably big enough for a group.

Thank you. I will look into those options.

I have received a couple endorsements for Schade's in Highland Falls. Its an pizzeria/ Italian restaurant cadets frequent. I e-mailed them to see if they'll take reservations for the 27th. This may be an easy place to meet.

I'd be happy to attend, as long as my family also agrees. Would be for four.

This sounds like a fantastic idea. If this is still on, count me in. I'm sure I can convince my parents to go as well.

Need some help please... what exactly does "SAF" stand for, as in SAF dinner?
Thanks in advance,

Hey AF, we're taking you to Gasho of Japan the night before if we're there. :thumb:

OMG - I can't believe it's still there!! One of my favorite restaurants of all time when I was at WP. We went out there for Thanksgiving with my swim team plebe year since we didn't get to go home due to practices/swim meets!
