So I'm fairly certain I failed my CFA, but would like to have a final word about it so I can move on. Here are my scores:

BB throw: 63 ft
Pull ups: 9
Shuttle run: 9.5 s
Sit ups: 61
Push ups: 61
Mile run: 9 m 43s (ouch)

I have to say kudos to the USMA admissions board, they know how to make a painful test. I told my instructor not to submit the scores and I'll just take it again (no point in submiting bad scores). My worry is that its coming pretty close to the dead line in Feb.

Any tips on training? (I have a hunch that what killed my was a poorly conditioned core.)

You did fail it. :frown: Failing the run is having a time over 8 min. Fail the shuttle run is having a score of over 9 seconds. failing the pull ups is having 3 or less. Not sure about failing push ups and sit ups. My suggestion to you is to practice over the averages that you can find on the WP website. For example, practice running 2 miles everyday.

You don't want to practice to the average because when it comes time to be tested your ability will only be average. You should over prepare for what you will be going against.

The average time for the shuttle run is 9.1, so slightly over 9 seconds shouldn't be failing.

And I got a 8:04 on my mile and just recieved my appointment. But yes a 9:43 is most likely failing.

Yeah i had to run my shuttle on a wet track and ended up getting like a 10 sec. I got an LOA a couple of months later.

Lol yeah figured I did. No worries, just gotta train harder. Thats for the info and the tips.

My advice:

Run, run, RUN!

Alternate between longer, slower paces and shorter, faster ones. Try fartleks as well; those will help to decrease your recovery time between events.

But, with the deadline quickly approaching, you ARE going to have to bust your butt to get that run time down -- be prepared for that.

Good luck!
