Do the California senators hold interviews both in person and over the phone or just over the phone? I live a couple hours south of Sacramento where their offices are, but I'd rather drive up there than have a phone interview.

Btw, I'm hoping for class of 2015...

Do the California senators hold interviews both in person and over the phone or just over the phone? .

In the past both Boxer and Feinstein only conducted phone interviews and I imagine that is not likely to change. Both hold interviews by phone with the candidate on a speaker phone and a panel of 5-8 members listening (or use of a conference call whereby all panel members are on the phone listening but only the chairperson and candidate are speaking). Each has a panel chairperson asking all identical questions of each candidate.

Incidentally, both CA Senators have multiple offices in the state. Feinstein has requests for nomination routed through her SF office and Boxer through her Riverside office.

Okay, thanks for the info. I admit I just assumed they'd have their offices in the capital...but you know what they say when you assume...

Feinstein was the only one of our state Senators to contact me about a nomination for the class of 2013 (I'm not sure if Boxer did any- so far I haven't been able to find any of my classmates who got one from her). I also had one with my Congresswomen (Tauscher). Feinstein's was pretty awesome it was two Marine Corps officers and they did it over the phone- probably one of the best discussions I've had in my life!
Good luck! If you have any questions let me know.
