Hey guys, I have NO clue where to post this, but I figured I would start here. I apologize if this is in the wrong section. You see, I am looking at a Career in Intelligence or the DoD, considering that medical reasons prevent a career in the Military.

I just want to know your thoughts on this article. I stumbled across it, and it really bothers me.

Thanks in advance.

:barf:

Notice that the author's foundation is that the DoD/intel agencies exist solely to murder, and that the entire oranization is filled with back-stabbing sociopaths...

Don't believe everything you read...

I agree with the previous reply - ignore that article and explore all opportunities.

I particularly encourage you to check out our website and Twitter pages - I get a lot of applicants who are not physically commission eligible who graduate from my college and have great careers in related areas.

I wish you well with your future!

Some things should bother you and other things you just know they are BS. This falls into the second category. There are plusses and minuses to a military career and one in the intelligence world as well- but I know first hand a number of folks who have made a long career in one or another of the various intelligence agencies and they are like all the rest of us- some endowed with a strong moral compass and some with less. But rest assured that the career itself is an honest and fundamentally an honorable one. These guys have an axe to grind- I would disregard this and make your own personal observations and decisions when you get the chance.

"If you choose to work for the military or an
intelligence agency, you have made a mistake, for you have offered
yourself up to assist in murder in exchange for pay"
As soon as you get to this sentence, quit reading. This guy is a moron and paying attention to him is not worth your time.

Rule 1 of information - just because it is in print, doesn't mean it is accurate or trustworthy.

Rule 2 - Rule 1 is even more true on the internet. You've got to verify that the source you are reading is accurate. This article is clearly an opinion piece. A few minutes research on the organization reveals that they have a very clear political agenda. Their purpose is to report on unrest and demonstrations in US cities. Writers and editors are volunteers and to call them "left-leaning" is probably an understatement.

I applaud your efforts to learn more and be well-informed. But you need to be discerning about what sites you trust. Learning to evaluate sources of information is a vital skill that will serve you well in college and beyond!
